The elderly bloke across from me is walking slowly up and down the road with a zimmer frame.Nothing unusual about that apart from a few months ago he would've been running down the road as he was a keen athlete who ate the right things and did the right things till he had a stroke.

A stroke is a terrible thing I looked after my mum for 7 years and it was soul destroying

I'll give him his due he wont sit back and think "right i'm 70 odd years old time to sit back and decay" He'll be back with his running gear on ASAP!
Give him to the summer when it is a touch warmer. 2 months ago I thought nothing of wearing 1 layer of Lycra and cycling 100km in a day. Expecting running kit from him in winter could be asking a touch much... I need 3 layers and have had to resort to gloves and am also slowly plodding up and down the lane measuring distance in hours per kilometre rather than kilometres per hour needing 2 crutches. I would be wearing a hat as well if I knew where it was!

(PS this is not trying to demean the effects of a stroke, the 5th or 6th one finally killed my Grannie 4 years ago and we watched the effects on her over the 3 years it took to finally take her).

Well that was easier than expected. First day back is always a monster, so much catching up to do and the auditors were supposed to be in today

My boss called in sick and cancelled the auditors hurrah so today was quiet and a lot or work was done.
