Could be. I love mine, esp on the Canyon. Cheapest deal at the moment is from hibike.de works out about 215 euros delivered. RRP is a good 100 e more than that. Hibike deals include the bleedkit.

They add 300 g to your build, the unit weighs c500g, but the joy of not having to stop a d faff with your post is immeasurable. Many different types out there but Reverb ticks all my boxes. Can't quite work out whether i need one on the Cotic.......

even with a qr clamp, a graduated post and a decent memory it's a pain every few hundred yards on some routes.

I'm all for the cheap option if it's reasonable, but I'm one of those who would need to keep getting off to adjust it every minute or so because the terrain is so varied, and that isn't my idea of fun. When I've already paid several hundred pounds to have fun, a couple of hundred more to make sure it stays fun is worth it, as far as I'm concerned.

This is my Steed, i've raised the Seat, but only guessed at the moment. Does it look kind of OK?

Mountain bike set-up is every bit as crucial as road bike set-up. Full race XC bikes are closest to road bikes in their angles and proportions and as the riding style gets more extreme so the position of the seat gets lower the bars higher and wider and the cockpit shorter.

Does the Seat on mine not look too high?.
I dunno. How long are your legs?
