and the disappearance of string bags

Ah, string bags are making a come back, in these more waste conscious days of not using carrier bags. My Mum has two (and I knitted one of them myself!).

One of my ex girlfriends had a string bag that her mum had made from the string they put on tampons. New, not used, I hasten to add; she'd acquired some from the factory.

Are you sure you needed to hasten to add that?

Rear windscreen wipers....it's not trivial they fit them almost as standard now.....it's the fact as i drive along, if i see ONE drip of water going down the rear screen......i've GOT to get rid of it with the wipers.

Now that's trivial  I hate it that i do it...but cant stop.

Having seen a police van on the way in today...

the change from SOCO to CSI...

When I worked at Iceland we had a breakin at the flat above the shop and the police said they'd send someone round to dust for prints etc. When he arrived, the manager was in the stockroom, so I had to ring him to come down, and it's an eternal regret of mine that I chickened out of saying loudly "SOCO's here, boss", like I'd seen in so many TV shows...

The loss of "Jeux Sans Frontieres" will always be lamented... especially the British "heats" aka "It's a Knockout" (it always seemed to have South Shields or Colchester in, for some reasons) and of course Stuart Hall collapsing in giggles, and taking the mickey out of Genarro (I think)
