Poor old Pidders. This was a bit reminiscent of Amstel Gold. Superman attacks. Only Pidcock can hang on. Pidcock hangs on to Superman for as long as he can but has to let him go. Superman disappears off into the distance. At least this time he had a bit left in his legs this time for second rather than third.

There's a handful of riders that are on another level/step up it seems...unfortunate for a lot of others.It almost seemed like Remco was playing with Pidcock before he dropped him,there looked a time when he almost waited for him ? Anyway it was a brave ride by Pidders hung on and sprinted for second. His time will come I'm sure....can't wait to see him descending in the Tour again 😁

This is exactly what I think we have the privilege of seeing. There are 5 riders who are better than the rest of the peloton. We are fortunate to see such amazing talent.
What is a shame is that if only one of the 5 are racing, it makes the race somewhat of a foregone conclusion. Yet I think this is small consolation to see these guys race.
