Well, he's tried many ways to win it before and failed, so it will be interesting to see what this year's strategy is and why the bookies think he is the most likely.

Yes, but he's not necessarily quickest up the Poggio (probably MvdP), or down it (Mohoric, Pidcock), or in a bunch sprint if it all comes back together (Mads P, Ganna, Milan, Philipsen). Reminds me in some ways of all the podiums and top10s of Sagan, without ever getting the win

I think Pogacar needs a bigger team to do it. He needs a really high pace on the Cipressa AND on the flat bit to the Poggio. That's not going to be possible without a team of 15 or so and even then someone might cling on and win the sprint.

To be fair to the bookies... somebody's got to be favourite and its not like there's much in it.

Its a tough race to predict...wasn't far off past couple of editions 2023 came in fourth and one better last year...came down to the sprint and was pipped at the post by Jasper, Bling came in second and himself in third in a photo finish.
Team,luck or dogged determination he's going to want to win this and maybe that's enough...i for one wouldn't want to bet against him and fingers crossed hope he does.

Women’s edition looks good too! First for many years. My money is on Kopecky or Wiebes but (if she does it) I’m curious to see what Cedrine Kerbaol could do, she descends like Mohoric!
