Well, ten past four in London, and no snow yet, yellow or otherwise.

It's pelting down, though, so a slow, wet, horrible commute home on the cards.

To be fair on you, Dave, having a serious heart problem at the end of last year does give you a reasonable excuse! :okay:
Does the rain get onto it? ;) Skipping a ride because it's cold enough to cause breathing problems or whatever I can understand, and the problems of ice are famous unless you have a studded-tyred bike, but I don't really understand the widespread fear of rain. It rains sometimes. It's been that way for as long as I can remember. If it's hard enough to hurt or heavy enough to limit visibility or it floods things, fair enough, but what's the problem with plain rain? Stick the waterproofs on and go for it!

My fear of rain revolves around getting wet.

In a swimming pool, or in the bath, or near a nice warm beach, fine. Worming my way through London traffic, 3°c, trying not to get knocked off in the dark... *Ick*.

HTFU, I know ^_^

Actually, I'd suggest buying some better rain clothes so you don't get wet. London's not too bad, although I do lean more towards filtered or protected routes when it's raining because I don't entirely trust some of the motorists to know how to work their lights and wipers!

Its simple. My rides are for enjoyment, I don't find riding in the rain enjoyable. In the past when I rode for transport a lot I would just ride if it was to get somewhere. Also at the moment I'm trying to shift some serious lurgie and risking a serious relapse by getting wet and cold is more than a bit silly..

Yeah, like I said, I can understand the problem with cold. I often enjoy riding in the rain otherwise.

Well, that was an interesting ride home.

The snow started, mixed in with the rain, as soon as I left. Oh well, I thought, it won't stick.

I started to change my mind about the time I got to Dulwich...

My wet weather gear isn't too shabby, normally. Nights like tonight are something else, though.

Took my gloves off, and they dropped on the floor with a loud slap.

I had snow stuck to my helmet.

Still, I got home in one piece, so no complaints.

Just watched the BBC reporting on the snow from Canterbury, the reporter spouted 'treacherous' 'blizzard' 'disruption' whilst standing in what is best described as a sprinkling of white stuff that hadn't even bothered to join up to form a complete covering. I could hear the whole of Scotland swearing at their tellys.

Not enough to close the school
Just enough to make all the kids distracted. And it's windy which doubly winds them up.
The worst type of snow!
Either do it properly or don't bother.
