Men Of Kent

This was inspired by a remark in another thread, which got me cogs whirring...

Any other Men of Kent on here?

I guess it was me who triggered it - a lapsed Man of Kent. As we all know, far better than the cowardly Kentish Men.

Having just read a website on it (because I _think_ I know but it comes up so irregularly that I double guess myself) there are a bunch of definitions. The one I've always heard is North and West (Kentish) or South and East (Man of) of the river Medway is the cut off. But apparently some people use the Stour and some people base it on which diocese you were born in, Rochester or Canterbury. On all tests I'm a Kentish Man.

To be honest, I only remember because there are Man of Kent pubs in Rochester and Rainham and they are both South/East of the Medway :-)

Oh, and I missed one. It's all about being born in Kent, so you can't wheedle your way in if you were born elsewhere. The last option they had was someone born in Kent of all Kentish parents is a Man/Maid of Kent and someone born to a non-Kentish parent in Kent is a Kentish Man/Maid. By this account I'm still a Kentish Man as my mother was born in Liverpool (albeit her mum was from Kent.)

I went to University in Canterbury, we used to sing a rugby song about being a Kentish Man, but we were actually men of Kent!
Now i live in Bexleyheath, which is nominally in Kent, but also in the London Borough of Bexley, so I am confused about my options.
