Men Of Kent

Born in the Kent and Canterbury Hospital, overlooking the Lawrence Ground. Still a fan of Kent cricket. I can trace my family back to Shakespeare's day, and they all came from a tiny place called Hoath near Sturry.
Father in the Army meant I moved around a lot so lived in Suffolk as a kid. Now a Midlander.

I was born at the top of Shooters Hill, Woolwich but could see Kent if the curtains were open..

No.1 daughter is a Maid of Kent having been born to the east of the Wantsum Channel. Probably TMI but she was conceived after a visit to the Jazz Club at Plucks Gutter and continued to hear 'live jazz' for the following 9 months prior to her birth in Margit..

I remember childhood days playing along the river at Plucks Gutter.

Must return and see if its still as nice.

I was born about as far away from Kent as it is possible to get without going into space...

Of course, the Men of Kent were the only chaps to put up any kind of serious resistance to the William the Thieving Git fellow, with an average score of one Man of Kent killed for every 268 foreign Johnnies they slaughtered.

PS, I may have the figures slightly wrong...
