Just to add some detail, when obtaining maximum heart rate values, via a ramp test or otherwise and setting training zones, you should do this for each sport you intend to partake in since the physical demands between sports vary to such a large degree.
For example, triathletes that train using heart rate will have 3 sets of training zones, one for each discipline, not one single set of zones they apply across all sports. If they did use one set of zones, they would only be training effectively in the discipline in which they tested their heart rate response and in the other two disciplines they would be either training too hard, or not hard enough!
