I have used this site for route planning all year but they appear to have 'improved' it. Previously you could click on start and end points and it would offer a route which you could then just click on to drag it around if there was something you didn't fancy or somewhere you want to go via. Now you can no longer drag routes unless there is a 'handle' on the route, now you can add these by clicking on the previous point and 'split the next segment' b ut this is a real pain.

So enough ranting - is there any other similar website for route planning where I can drag my route about. Garmin Connect allows it but you can't export as a GPX (I use a SatMap GPS).

www.gpxeditor.co.uk is good
offers a number of different routing algorithms Google, car, walking, bike and some based on OSM which are still under development.
full screen map area with choice of Googlemaps/satellite, Google streetview, Ordnance Survey and OSM.
All operated by some context sensitive menus (i.e. right-click)which are quite well thought out - although do take a little getting used to.
To change a route - click on it, Edit, Reroute between, then set the start & finish points of bit you want to reroute, move the mouse to which road you want to go down (move not drag) and the route info panel tells you change in distance.
Distances are in km only, as is only right & proper for a cycling site.
