Its my first 100 mile run and I just got in under 6 hours. I'm made up. Makes the training rides in the Peak District worth it!

Had a good day, no rain which is always a bonus, the wind was quite harsh at times but after the half way stop it did seem to ease off, and there were no cars on the hill at Style.
I did 6hrs 20min which I didn't think was bad as I had done no training at all for it, so was happy to get round without many aches and pains.

Don't know if anyone saw the car that had hit a truck head on by what I would see, there was pretty much nothing left of the car, spent the following few miles thinking of many lives would be affected by that one accident.

Think I will stick to the 60miler next year, as I had had enough by the 80mile mark.

Did enjoy the woof burger from the van at the finish line, i had a burger with donner meat (it was tougher than the soles of my shoes) and at £3 it was hard to swallow.

rode it for joining jack. Some appalling group skills on display. Rode with a mate till just after half way, then found a faster chap and we cracked on as a 2 for the next 30 odd miles, then I did the last 10 on my own. Just over 5 hours. Nice training ride in the second half, first half was trying not to get knocked off.

Ye that accident looked shocking. The car was absolutely destroyed.

Had fun but a lot of (slow) people were treating it like it was closed roads. Just 3/4 abreast all over the show.

Oh and quite a few of the "marshals" were piss poor. Just sat down pointing left or right giving no guidance on approaching traffic or the like. Most however were very good.

The organisation at the end was appalling, took over an hour to get off the park. Agree about the rubbishcycling standards no wonder some car drivers get frustrated.

I'd rather that the marshals didnt indicate whether the road was clear. Rather use my own eyes than trust some spotty kid with his phone to his ear.

Marshals should not really be giving an indication on the state of approaching traffic as it can become a liability.
