Man Shot in Both Legs by Cyclist

BBCNI are running a story today about a fella who was shot in the legs up the road from me. The fact that they have classified the perpetrator as a cyclist seems a little odd to me. If the aggressor jumped out of a car would the victim have been shot by a motorist? If the gunman had walked around the corner, would the victim have been shot by a pedestrian?

Maybe it’s important to say he was riding a bike in case any witnesses saw him or anyone knows him?
if he had been in a car, they would have appealed on that basis and if he had been on foot stated details about where he came from or went to

Yes, rumour has it, that the cyclist was wearing black so to be totally invisible to any other road users..

Shootings/stabbings are sadly common place in todays society as there is usually little to deter such senseless offenders. It sad that with so much tech and additional resources, better monitoring/tracking and catching of offenders can be achieved every easily.

Lets hope the innocent victim makes a good recovery and I'm sure life will dish out something of its own to the offender.

Seems like a typical travelling community kneecapping where they damage the kneecaps to put the person in a wheelchair for the rest of their life. Horrible to think of such a thing happening.

It is probably too early to know if the victim is actually innocent.

So ..... The BBC didn't actually refer to the shootist as a cyclist after all. A man on a bicycle is not necessarily a cyclist; as people on a cycling forum should be well aware you would have thought?

But the OP makes a fair point. They don't say the motorist shot the victim in the legs, or the pedestrian slapped him with a wet haddock.
