Sorry copied and paste from word doc and it put it into some funny font. Could not find out how to change it back.

Nah, I'm not rising to it.

Potnoodle, it would help your argument if you didn't SHOUT!

Go and see if you can find any statistics that show:

Percentage of Drivers who are ever pedestrians
Percentage of Drivers who are ever cyclists (on the road)
Percentage of Cyclists who are ever drivers

I'd guess 98%, 15%, 85%. It's all about informing and educating.

Eh? Go on, tell me, why does it not surprise you, I am curious!

With regards to 'the point' maybe this is it.

i hate statistics as you can always manipulate them to your own needs, .Gov certainly do. Sod stat's, just go on what you see.

I would like to say that i am impressed with the ammount of careful drivers, cyclists etc. I dont think there wuold be enough bandwidth to host all those vids of nice, helpfull people ect. Thankyou nice people

potnoodle no!

You have to know some of Magnatoms history - I suggest you go back through some of his posts to understand where he's quite legitimately coming from.... and he's not as serious as he seems.

You'll also find that he's not the only one taking this approach and further that lots of commuters believe bad driving 'should' be reported to the police and indeed is. When backed up with camera evidence it's a bit harder to ignore.

I was only trying to point out one of the major reasons for posting the videos. A lot of drivers have no concept of what it is like to ride a bike on the road and so some of these drivers don't understand why we do what we do and why we need space, for example. By posting these videos, at least some of these drivers might start to understand our concerns, issues etc.

However, it is vital that if we want driving standards to improve that we also try to improve cycling standards as well. We all share the roads, so lets share them with a little respect.

I have just ahd a quick read of the link and yes it has bought the problem to the attention of the bus company and i bet it really makes the bus drivers think when they look at the stickers that have been placed in there cabins.

Im not on here for an argument. these are just my points of veiw from someone looking in..

If we all had the same points of veiw the world would be a very boring place.

 Crackle! You said something nice about me!

Actually you are right about one thing, in that people probably take me too seriously at times. Sure there are times when I am mad about bad driving etc, but, for example in this video, I was more bemused than anything else. Sure it wasn't a serious incident, but it was interesting and all part of the 'cycling story'.

Finally, what really gets my goat up is when folk say I am 'looking for trouble'. How could I be. I ride the same route, 4 days a week (I work on Sunday and take a different route then). I necer deviate as I want to get their and back as fast as I can, so I can spend more time with the family. What I post is what happens. Nothing more. So I don't understand how I can ever be accused of looking for trouble.

I'm just a poor misunderstood wee soul...

Potnoodle, if you are ever, very very, bored and you bother to look up my history , you'll find one thing I have always encouraged is debate. I have no problem at all with anyone disagreeing with me. If I had, I'd have been out of this game a looooong time ago.

Debate is what it is all about. By debating problems are solved, issues are raised etc. That is exactly what I want.

So any time you want to disagree with me, please do! Another advantage of posting my videos is that people have pointed out my mistakes. I have learned a lot by doing it, and my cycling is all the better for it. I know I still have plenty to learn and I certainly wouldn't learn anything if everyone agreed with me. For example Crackle and I have had our disagreements in the past, but we still get on very well here (don't we?).

I draw the line at death threats of course (part of my history!!).

... and I wasn't getting at you, just wanted to clarify why I used them. Anyway, they are the best type of stats, and probably the most accurate type........ They were made up in my head!

Death threats....Bloody hell thats a little harsh for a forum.

Do hope i'm not going to find a horse head under my bed sheets tonight.

Strange old world forums. I have been a member of a few over the years and also used to have my own web site with a very active forum on it (Used to run a forum + Web site for an RC Car track)

Was thinking of wearing my head cam in just for a laugh to see what i could catch.. If i do ill post it up for everyone to have a look at.

Hope to get some good stuff on it soon with me on my downhill bike too.

Oops! I should have made it clear the death threats didn't come from this forum. Most of it came from one particular car forum and on my youtube videos. If you look at some of the older comments on my videos you will still find some of them.

For a short version of my 'history' you could always check out my fairly new blog .

This place is definitely as friendly as its title suggests!
