I doubt vickster will be servicing them seeing as she won't even be fitting them herself
Of course not! I would assume they aren't going to wear out with the amount of riding I do

I don't even know what bearings are

They would if you could clip in both sides....bought on your recommendation IIRC? Or perhaps someone else

i had the 520 on my hybrid but put 540 on my CX as i got a good deal. it may just be a placebo effect but the 540 seem to run better and can easily be serviced without any special tools.

I love mine^_^

What did you end up getting? I would have suggested XT M785 trail pedal had I seen this earlier. Platform surround for big target clipping, AND double sided. No spanner flats though. M520s are shyte. There, I've said it.

Nothing, still using the a600s and cursing them when pulling away from almost every set of lights

I have M520's on 2 of my bikes, and XT M780 on one, M520 are a decent pedal if serviced well, they do need regular strip down and re-adjust the bearings, the XT ones I've never had to touch, well worth the extra money.

I've got 520's, 540's & (XT) M780's. All work fine. Never had to maintain any of them. But if I had to choose the XT's get my vote for being lighter & seem to last longer before creaking! Worth the extra cash to me.
