Friday I helped a farmer out and it was good to sit on a truck tail gate eating freshly made cake and coffee while feeling tired from physical work.
We looked at the view discussed the history of the site and remarked that life did not get much better.
Then I went home and found a huge box outside my door. Preparing myself to have to deliver it to the right house, I was shocked to find it was addressed to me from Australia.
I knew a chum had a S/H Koga for me if he ever came back. i never expected for one moment that he would post it. What a surprise.

The wheels will need a bit of work as its been used to go to the beach, but everything looks usable.

Will report back as I progress through the refurbishing of it. Very pleased and surprised.

The bike went to the beach quite often and there is some wheel corrosion. I have washed all the parts very carefully and am just wondering about slowing the corrosion more. My options looking around my workshop are car anti corrosion wax, silicon spray, or red rubber grease as do not want anything to affect the tubes if it migrates in any way. Any thoughts esp from anyone on the coast. Thanks.

Some other bits the Aussie sun has got too and unlike here they are almost biscuit like in their brittleness.

Some of the lacquer has gone yellow as well. Again, you don't see it here and the lubricant on the gears is baked on hard with sand it that's taking a lot of cleaning off. Chain is best recycled for the effort needed to get it moving well. Its 9 speed so a new one is cheap enough. ^_^

Mudguards I bought off a chap who was moving house and needed to get rid of them urgently. Did it as a favour thinking I would never find a use for them. Just a trial fitting while I nip to a mates house as a first try out on the bike.

Be prepared to be impressed

I already am as I dashed home, did the adjustments, including getting the rear brake to stop creeping, and its superb. Still struggling to accept
the generosity of my friend. His friend who bought the bike in Holland (custom built for him), did a European tour and then took it home.
When he got ill no one was interested in it out there, so he asked my chum if he knew anyone. ^_^

I have had a few over the years and they have all impressed me , but for some unknown reason i don't still own one

The big tyres came on it and though not my choice I will keep them as they seem rather good at rolling along and don't feel like the energy sapping wide tyres I have had on MTB's in the past.
