Obviously the hot weather is convincing more people to get out on their bikes, maybe even the Tour de France coverage may also be helping motivate people.
Noticed more road bikes than usual most of them new looking.
I think a guy on a carbon Boardman was a little disappointed to see me disappear into the distance up a short climb with no effort whilst he struggled out of the saddle in the wrong gear, school boy error.

It got me inspired to tick off many of the biggest north east climbs hills over the weekend.

Am currently in temporary thought that train spotting is a wiser hobby.

Overtook 40 cyclists in the space of a mile this morning.
Cycles seriously outnumber motorised transport on CS7 this morning and about 10x quicker.

I only saw two cyclists today whilst out and about. The first I overtook and nothing really happened.
The second RLJed coming towards me through a junction which is suicidal to jump through. I said as he passed "We stop at red lights you know" to which he just blurted out a cry of laughter. I was thinking about turning around and clumping the guy but knew it wouldnt have got me anywhere.
I saw many cyclists along the NCR5 though.

Lots out around the Hebden Bridge area on saturday, mixture of full on roadie type groups to just peeps having a pootle to some hardcore MTB's giving it some on the canal towpath:laugh:

I think the TDF effect is well in effect^_^

I definitely noticed an increase in bikes since the hot weather. Like BSRU says, all sorts of new looking gear too.
Brilliant to see all the families out together and not afraid to use their local roads!

Also saw loads more out on the roads on Sunday. I did have to help out a chap who just bought a new boardman and the gears were not indexed correctly. Stupid Halfords again. Anyway soon sorted him out and he challenged me to a sprint. I suspect he thought he was Cav, shame he couldn't pedal like him. Dropped him in about 100 feet. Ha.

I saw loads of cyclists today. Some obviously new to ti. And the work bike racks were full.

It's great to see, even though some of them could do with learning a bit of roadcraft!
