Another vote for the Defy. I have the 2016 Defy 1 Disc and I have to say that its an absolute pleasure.

Defy is a great shout.
However I would also say, find a good second hand bike. If you know what you're looking for you can two or three spec levels up for the same money as a brand new bike. I've always done it, being a tight Yorkshireman.

You can't go far wrong really and several specs to choose from, I would go for at least a 105..

Save around a third on the price. .
