Local accents

Whereas, as you say, down south it's pretty much all RP with only the older and/or rural folk having any sort of regional accent.

The same is slowly becoming more prevalent around here.

Dundee for a big contact,could we understand the locals ? Ended up every one on the site travelled up from the central belt and the contract ran smoothly. Travel expenses and vans were well worth the money according to the number crunchers

One girl in that group lived in a house that actually had battlements
and the beams in the living room ceiling were from Nelson's flagship (not Victory - a previous one!)
they were "quite well off" - ran a business running cigarette machines in pubs!
