I bought a pair of these a few weeks ago https://www.cyclestore.co.uk/specialized_sub_zero_winter_cycling_gloves_2014-ID_56900 and so far im happy with them. They keep my hands warm and dry.
They don't have much by way of padding but they are just big enough to wear with a pair of mits in place of the liner glove.
I bought a pair of the 'sub zero' lobster gloves last year, hoping for something that would be much warmer on the fingertips, but was rather disappointed, as I found them barely any warmer than the Altura gloves I was previously using.

I use hand warmers in ski mittens, but am considering going to these:

Neoprene, sometimes covered with plastic membrane as well.

If it's really cold (i.e. -5 and under) I use ski mittens and liners. I tried a couple of types of lobster gloves - and sorry I don't remember which brands - but found them a bit of a let down. IIRC it was more from shoddy and cheapo construction rather than the concept - so if there's some decent ones available in the UK nowadays, I'd be happy to give them a punt (if I wasn't already happy with the mittens). Either mittens or lobster gloves bork your motility and potentially shifting a bit, but less so than having frozen fingers that have lost all sensation so I'm happy to live with it.

I have found the only thing that works for my bad circulation and cold hands in extreme weather is to invest in a pair of poundland hand warmers...start off with my gloves warmed on the radiator and after 15-20 mins when my hands are getting very cold insert the reusable warmers in my gloves. I get an instant heat boost for the next 20 mins which is usually enough to get my into work. It's not perfect but so far it's the best solution I have found as all the gloves I have tried have never really worked heat wise. I have sealskinz and although a fantastic glove to wear they do not retain much heat.....here's to spring ^_^
