Lincolnshire UK area, help please

Never been to Lincoln....must correct that this summer!

Do not wear yellow in in August if that is when you plan visiting. If you want a nice route around the wolds let me know.

Lincoln has the national pro cycling championships this year I think, as well as its usual elite race. If you don't get there in the summer, the Christmas market is one of the best in the country

The market is OK, my son lived in the middle of it. Not much to buy there and what there is is over priced tat. The national 25 was here a couple of years back and I marshelled that one.

Personally, I'd avoid Lincolnshire I think @screenman has it pinned down.

I can tell you, from an expert point of view, healthcare in Lincolnshite is absolutely shite.

I need to be that way really!!!

I toyed with this myself, looked at Lincoln itself and was very tempted. Almost everywhere I looked was better than Slough

Exactly. I'm not sure people realise just how bad Slough / Berkshire actually is.

By looking at the places I mentioned you will be staying away from the not so nice places. If you have only visited Grantham then you will not have met the real Lincolnshire as it has so many outside influences.

I am sitting here looking out of my patio window across 3 miles of open field's, all covered in rape so it is not all bad

Why do you think I am in Lincolnshire, I wanted the same as you 28 years ago, I started a business here and work all over the county, which is how I know the good and bad points.

if 300k is your budget, in this part of the country cambs/lincs 300k will get you a nice porperty in a nice street, village, town, city and it doesn't really matter how shiiitty a place is, its what you make of it ....believe it or not people can have good, happy lives in shiiittty places...

my brother lives near long sutton in a beautifully finished, detached converted barn with some land paid a fair bit less than 300k

Does he not go out of his nice house, ask him what he thinks of Boston.

Also house prices have rocketed it seems, mine though is only about £350,000 not a lot in down south prices.

Last Saturday on the 'Everybody Rides to Skeggy' 300k audax I ended up through some of this area. Woodhall Spa and surrounding area looked good. A bit flat and open but nice enough.

Skeggy not so.

I'm afraid, as someone who has experience of the CQC inspection system from the inside, I wouldn't give a whole lot of weight to a CQC report....
