Very tricky for you ...... I'm 55 years old with no chance of paying off my mortgage whilst alive so I cannot move.

However my local NHS trust which would be tasked with looking after you is millions in debt so not a good choice if you moved here. I'd spend a bit of time checking out the help you have would get where you move to. Hate to say it but have you considered Scotland?

I'll keep digging and asking. Cheers.

Boston does have a bad reputation, as do similar port towns like Wisbeach and Kings Lynn. I say reputation because ive never lived there but mention it in Peterborough, you will get a similar reaction, always did.
I suspect its because port towns are/were inhabited by tough working people, dad was from Avonmouth in Bristol, a no nonsense place to live as a kid I gathered.

Bah, Peterborough just don't like Linnets because linnets look to Cambridge and Norwich rather than their wannabe city.

The three ports have more in common than most want to admit, but all are OK for cycling. All have some problems: Boston and Lynn have councils who don't seem to know what tthey're doing, Wisbech had BNP marches.

Nearby, I like Spalding, but it feels like a much smaller town than any of the others.

Boston, you lot have to be joking. A 7 mile dead straight dead flat road to get out of it in any direction.

I work there 3 days a week, Not even the people who live there want to.

Lincolnshire is not a nice county and the councillors running it should be ashamed of themselves.

If you have to live in Lincolnshire I would go for any of the Cliffside villages between Grantham and Lincoln.

I'll certainly take you to task here...Lincolnshire is by far the best place I've lived in for many years.
I live in a fantastic little village just a few miles outside of Lincoln but appreciate what you say about Boston being a bit out in the sticks.

Cycling around here is great and I can go for an hour on country lanes and only see 2/3 cars. The wolds just up the road are stunning, Lincoln itself is a great city...

I agree with the cycling bit, as long as it is not near Boston. I am sure you will agree with me on Lincolnshire lacking a nice respectful coastal town.

Good grief Boston is a God awful wind blasted shithole where the local arsewipes go looking for a fight on a weekend. Avoid at all costs.

Grantham is ok, as is sleaford.

Skegness & Mablethorpe - awful places!!
Chaple St Leonards - lovely little town if you have young children
Anderby Creek - fantastic place to enjoy the sea...no crowds, little cafe and just a long, clean beach

Chapel used to be, it is not in my personal opinion as nice now. I also said town, so that counts your second one out a bit. Clean beach, but the sea could not be less inviting.

Now if you had mentioned the beauty of the Wolds you might have got me, or the total ugliness of Nettleham police station I would be agreeing also. Sincil street, now there is an interesting environment.

Worked in almost ever town in Lincolnshire and no thanks. Fairly high road accident rate mainly due the fact that there arn't many bends in the roads - just 90% corners and far too many popped up farmers taking a 'risk' on an evening.. Grantham is about the best of the bunch I think and at least it's fairly flat.

Ah, the Darwinian traffic calming of the fens... At least on a bicycle, you can see them coming for miles and you're not going to be the one trapped in a flooding car because you can't open the doors that are wedged by the drain bank...
