I like the flash patterns where at least one LED is always on, but they dance around. Short of using two lights in the steady/flashing combo, I reckon it's the best option.

Another one here with one flashing and one constant on the back.
Two constants go on the front for winter commuting.

It all depends also on the condition of the batteries. Most flashing LED lights are quite visible from a hundred yards, but when the batteries wear down they can be quite usless.

I'm not going to disagree with anyone with multiple lights.

One flashing one steady - the theory is that the flashing light draws attention, whilst the steady light makes it easier to judge distance and speed.

Agree and that's what I have had for quite a few years, front and back.:hello:

Generally have 2 front lights 1 flashing and 3 rear lights 2 flashing.

On the Christmas tree? Steady.
On the bike, front 2 steady, rear 1 of each

In 'fully lit' mode I have two Tesco torches plus a low power flasher up front and two red flashers and a string of constant red fairy lights behind. I think a mix of flashers and constant lights is best but that the flashers should be lower power to avoid freaking out other road users - I wouldn't attempt to see by a flasher.

Flashing rear.

A long time ago, when lights were nothing like as bright as they are now, I was rear-ended by a car doing 55mph. I went to flashing lights as soon as they came out. They're not fun on group night rides, though.

I didn't vote because I use both, front and back (or does that count as a passive "flashing" vote).

Hope Perry doesn't mind but I've just added an option for both.

Cheers,
Shaun ;)
