Really I bought it for summer evenings when I fancied riding home from the Big Smoke, instead of taking the Increasingly Black Brompton and the train. Would have been rude not to buy it though, as it was on a very large discount from Evans and my then employers had an incentive scheme with vouchers for even more. They didn't quite pay me to take it away, but...

That is lovely

It's great fun. Most of the time you wouldn't know it wasn't a full-size road bike, and the range of gearing is really good. The brakes are only OK, everything else really good. I should use it more - haven't ridden back from London since Covid, but then I've worked from home a lot since then.

Waiting in the sun to leave the land of roundabouts

Used to make regular visits to MK during my IT career back there, Cable & Wireless had a datacentre there, and offices in nearby Bletchley.
Someone was telling me that when they set about designing this new town, they had an initial plan on the table, and someone accidentally tipped a box of smarties over the map, and decided that's where all the roundabouts should be.
Could just be folklore though
