ID9 on the way back from a good deed the other week.

My elderly aunt had been at Wharfedale hospital for routine tests and had another issue and taken to A&E at St James's. Her car had been left in the car park at Wharfedale for several days, and still in hospital, she was worried about how she'd get it back.

So the hospital being 3.5 miles from my Mum's house and my aunt's house being only a mile from Mum's, it wasn't hard to formulate a plan! Drive to Mum's to visit and do some jobs, collect key, ride to hospital, throw bike in car boot, drive to aunt's house, ride back to Mum's, throw bike in my car boot. The descent down the Chevin was a hoot, and the gearing made short work of Billham's Hill at the far end!

I forgot to take a photo of the bike in her car's boot, so here it is in mine!

There's 4 in there... how many more do you need? Usual English disrespect for Cymraeg.
I've tried so hard over the past few days to answer this post, with a further photo and hopefully not quite such a ?? disrespectful?? [light-hearted I thought.....but thanks for telling me, and humble apologies.] caption.
In trying I seem to have wiped the original post and for some other reason way beyond my techno capabilities I can no longer post another photo.
All I can say to "mitchibob" is............YSBYTY YSTWYTH..............

I’ve done about 100 miles on this now and it’s been fun, I love the way you can just take it into the pub for lunch with you and nobody minds. It’s a 6 speed with the reduced chainring option, 44 t as it’s hilly where I live and I’m not as strong as I used to be. Just incase anyone is interested it can climb surprisingly steep hills, Infact I haven’t had to get off and push yet although I have thought about it lol. If you’re familiar with the North East then Saltburn bank, Lordstones and Chop Gate have been conquered. I’m not sure what percent they are but they feel very steep. Downhill I hit 37mph which felt pretty fast but not enough to need counselling later. On the flat it won’t spin out for me,18mph felt good with another gear left.
I wish I got one years ago!

I’ve ridden up Chop Gate many times in the past - that’s impressive!

For one reason or another I haven’t been able to do much cycling this year, the Brompton has taken the majority of the miles and my affection for it has just grown. I don’t need to prove anything when riding it, I can just trundle along and enjoy the ride, not worrying about how slow I’m going.

............success !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

......well after a fashion??!!?? It has taken me all this time to fathom out how to get my photos out of their album and onto this page, via a much more long winded way than before.
Until it returns to the previous and easier method of just dragging a photo across into the "Insert Image" box, I am not going to anywhere in Wales without a vowel in its name, especially the Welsh ones.
I'll keep my eyes peeled for "mitchibob" and his black Brompton with front derailleur, just in case........
