Let's See Your Folding Bike

I know there is a gallery section, and forgive me if I'm wrong in posting this thread here, but I thought since it's "photo specific" to folding bikes it might be OK. If not, please delete the thread, as I have posted these photos on a thread within the gallery forum.

I just thought it would be nice to see everyone's folding bike. Anyway, here's mine:

Hello. Does your Brompton have the extended seat post? If so, is the above image showing the lowest it can be when folded? Thank you.

It certainly looks like it does.

this is mine with the extended post pushed all the way in...

Although I will say two things.

1. I actually cut the rubber bung down on mine as it was such a tight fit to get it into the boot of my car.
2. when I had a hire bike, it had the telescopic seatpost. Even allowing for the fact that I left the top part extended, it ended up folding smaller than mine with the extended post.

I don't think I can get it much cleaner without replacing more bits (and yeah... I know I have to deflate the tyres again to get the logos aligned with the valves... I always forget)! I so love this bike!

My “blinged up “ Brompton has a very expensive KMC DLC chain with red/ black links 😁

The SA hub gears have been no trouble so far. The chain ring size means the lowest gear isn't great for long climbs, whereas 3rd can feel overgeared at times. In the future, a smaller chain ring may be the way to go.

Update to Post 183 & for 400:

1. SRF back together, locking cone washer added
2. Gearing now 44/15 & much improved (new chainset, bb, chain & sprocket)
3. There were some thoughts that Bromptons (at one point) left the factory with none too generous bearing care - redone, as was the headset & folding pedal
4. Frameset rust treated (messy - will know better next time!), handlebar stem freed & reset
5. Wheels trued

All ok.

Such a fabulous practical design and London success story: still a wonderful bicycle.

I picked up a 2016 Black Edition this morning, now cleaned and serviced so I thought I’d take some photos of it with my M3L.

This is the bike that I use most frequently of my four. Great for trips into town.
