Forbidden Planet is one of my all time favorite films the man was very funny and thanks to film will still be loved in years to come .gone but not forgotten me thinks

for me his genius lay in his ability to deliver completely corny comedy in an understated way. There's nothing frantic or in-your-face about it. A one-off.



Agreed, and how he manages to keep playing it straight whilst all kinds of carnage is happening around him. Frank Dreben was a fantastic character and Police Squad was hugely under-rated IMO.
A class act.

Bought the Police Squad series on DVD a few years back, cost about £3 - 4 if I remember correctly. Never get tired of watching it - I always enjoy the way he parks his police car, every time. Closing credits are genius too. Chortle, might have to give it a run out again tonight.

Sad to see him go but he was 84 so it's not like he was cruely taken from us at a young age.

What would have been sad was if he had passed away without his work being remembered but thankfully thats not the case.

There is nothing worse than talent passing away in obscurity.
