Have you tried one? Don't knock it until you have.

I haven't - but no matter how comfy it might be, afaic they are just so fugly, I couldn't go there...the only bikes they look ok on are really old traditional looking ones.

I know there will be lots of people who disagree, but personally, there is no way I would have a brooks on a mtb!

Anyone mentioned the Charge Ladle. Someone has got one. Might be theclaud but I'm not sure.

Note to self: Punky malignes Brooks saddles.......

Edit: £20 from here. I got my Spoon from there

Victoria - I live north of the river (and up a hill of course), you are welcome to come and try a Dawes standard issue saddle, a Specialized BG Windle XC, or a Terry Liberator X. Sorry I don't have a Brooks.

And if I can fit a saddle:ohmy: then anybody can... you just need an allen key.

I'm up by the downs - and the other half has a couple of saddles you could try from a Selle italia Ldy thing that's fairly padded but relatively narrow to a quite hard but apparently very comfortable (she had exactly the same problem as you) Charge Spoon saddle.
