Several posters in this thread seem to know how a wild animal will behave in strange environment.

Of course, it's not possible to know that, and there are instances of reintroduction/introduction schemes going wrong in the sense the animal doesn't behave or breed as the experts predict.

Because those sources aren't biased at all...

You could replace "lynx" with "immigrant" throughout those quotes and get the same ignorant message.

For both sides, commercial interests are important, the Lynx Trust highlighting the extra tourism potential ofit all.

Me, well I look forward to science making that other old favourite of Britain making a reappearance. The woolly mammoth.

I've not seen anything about that from the Lynx Trust but I'd be interested to see it given the natural instinct of lynx to avoid humans.

This sort of thing has been done before, and its fair to say there was the odd teething problem.

There was some mis-selling with the cane toad.

From what I can gather, they don't eat what they are supposed to eat and have more babies than they were meant to.

Before you all start flapping. We have them in Denmark. I have seen one in 14 years and I live in he countryside. I have never heard of them attacking people or livestock.

On the other had we have wolves again and they are allegedly attacking livestock.
