A lynx would only attack a human if it was cornered, which is pretty unlikely in a forest. They are shy animals and only attack what they know they can kill.

They certainly will not attack if well fed. It is mainly hunger that makes them change diet.

Honestly, you are worrying about nothing.

This is just one, of many, available pieces of commentary about the actual threat posed to humans by lynx:

Great info.
'A number of the alleged attacks in Britain have been dubious.'

Something to do with there being no wild Lynx in the UK at the moment Sherlock?

Tell you what, when lynx start tearing through happy families in Kielder I'll agree that they are ruthless human haters. Until then I'll carry on happily knowing that they are shy creatures who avoid conflict with what they can't kill.

I would suggest that driving your car to the Kielder forest is many times more likely to result in death than a lynx attack.

The only real issue here is how the species preys on farm animals. If and when it does then conflict will occur. Most people like the idea of lynx but I'm sure farmers will not. In France there is a compensation scheme for wolf attacks on sheep even though they have spread naturally from Italy and Spain. Perhaps the same sort of scheme here will be a suitable compromise

Are you sure that it occurs on 11 August? My reading is that there will be a consultation meeting that day.
Yes, on a second look it does look like it has reached a consultation. Of sorts?

I think they have gone quiet on their original hope of reintroducing bears.

Bears now is it?

They also avoid humans, but (unlike lynx) will do you serious damage if confronted or startled.

I wonder if the Lynx community had a consultation when humans ripped through their families similar to the way we do most species. Should they be reintroduced to their natural habitat? Hell no, not if the humans say not. ^_^
