If you fancy going south of the river :surrender: the Cutty Sark is fantastic and the Greenwich Observatory is really good too, another museum (groan...) but the Maritime is really interesting with some great stuff for kids too. You can get to all this through the Greenwich Foot Tunnel if you fancy a stroll under the Thames, it comes up right by the Cutty Sark too.

Who wouldn't be impressed by this!

If museums are out, what about shopping? Take the kid to Hamleys while she pops round the corner to Liberty. Or the Apple Store, depending on which way her inclinations lie.

I find it hard to imagine that a 7yo would find the Tower of London, Natural History Museum or Science Museum boring but I expect his own mother knows him better than a bunch of idiots off the internet.

Dual ticket for Tower Bridge, look down from the top through the glass floor at the roadway and river below. (I planned my visit with my granddaughter for when the bridge was being raised to allow an old sailing barge to pass under us.)
And The Monument to the great fire of London, 311 steps up, 311 steps down and a 'free' certificate to prove you've done it.

Tour of the BBC, you get to read the news or act in a radio play, and you are guaranteed to spot some famous people off of the telly.

The earth does that. Ok it's spherical, but still...

(Yes I know it's not a true sphere and the word I'm looking for is...)

Got some good ideas on this thread. I always fancied going on the clipper boat, never been. I might try that soon
