The wife & I are planning a couple of days in London prior to a couple of days at Legoland with our 7 year old son. The wife isnt interested in visiting any of the museums, nor the tower of london, as (in her words) she would find them boring (and in her opinion, he would too). We plan to head down 2nd week July (hopefully), if there is anything that may only be happening around that time..

If any of you could recommend something for me to then suggest to them I would greatly appreciate it.

Corams Fields is quite nice for a 7 year old, it's really just a big playground but it's quite a pleasant and leafy place for parents to sit too.
I don't think you can whack a river cruise either, jump on at Westminster and head East down to Canary Wharf for a bite to eat, and see all the old docks and warehouses along the way. Have a look at the City Cruises website.
For events during your visit, check TimeOut London magazine on arrival (or look in advance on the website).

A boat trip from Westminster down to Greenwich and a visit to the National Maritime Museum. Both enormous fun.

Go on your own, you'd have LOADS more fun! :okay:

Travel between say westminster and Greenwich on the Thames clipper which is a commuter river boat and pretty exciting for kids upto 47 years old and not expensive. There's sea world or whatever its called - a big aquarium with loads of sharks and 'sting' rays - which is just by westminster bridge. Quite expensive and worth booking to avoid queues. You can hire recumbent bikes/go karts in whizz around battersea or Dulwich parks.
Have a look at the royal festival hall website to see what events are going on there.
The Lion King musical is a cracker if you can get tickets but all of those family musicals are good.
