What would you suggest as an immediate way to treat her case in terms of her own safety. The previous visit to the same clinic failed. And the clinic is well regarded.
In the short term a brief spell in prison could help as a wake up call.
In the medium term. If the press left her alone and stopped reporting her every move she might calm down? She seems to be feeding a monster that will never be fully satisfied.
In the long term she needs sensible people around her. Don’t ask me who or how.

Agree in every respect.

If she is serious, and she is not a stupid woman, but many other factors are in play, not least the people around her (a boyfriend who lends her/allows her to access to a car whilst disqualified is 'unhelpful', for example) between now and sentencing she has an opportunity to get herself in control. Not every programme works, and as others have said, the mindset of the individualis key to success, as well as environmental factors. If that proves to be the case, she should receive a community sentence.

If it doesn't, I fear we may enter a cycle of imprisonment/release, and rinse and repeat.

I suspect she is awake. Whether she has the capability and support to rehabilitate herself is another matter. Time will tell, but I hope she is able to grasp the opportunity.

And if it's successful, and she conquers her illness, everybody wins, I guess?
I suspect she will have been advised by her lawyer to do it and the same with the immediate guilty plea. If the rehab resolves serious issues that contributed to her actions then yes everybody wins. I do believe rehabilitation is better in general than straight punishments which do little to resolve underlying problems.
I also am pretty sure she is a far more complex person than the tabloids would have us believe via the Jordan persona. I tend to take a fairly circumspect view of anything in the gutter press.

She admitted the offence to the police who attended, including that she'd taken drugs.

I would agree with taking the vehicle
crushing doesn't matter - selling would be fine and rused to recoup funds
the ownekr thne need to sue the leasee to get cost back
might stop her 'friends' letting her dribe their cats when they know she is banned

as far as 'one more chance' goes
that was some time ago - she was told the consequences of doingi again
and she did it anyway
this is not mental health - it is entitlement - of course she is upset and stressed about it
she got caught

she knew the consequences
she thought they didn;t apply to her -or that she NEEDED to be able to drive

she was wrong and only a severe punishment will change her mind

maybe that is prison
Is that actually legal, I think the RSPCA might have something to say about it? 😳😂

Upper limit for 2nd offence within 10 years is 60 months incarceration, throw the book at her :cursing:

Second offence of what?

Max prison for drink/drive and drive disqualified is six months, although a second drink/drive within 10 years does qualify for a minimum disqualification of three years.

Good grief, I wish some people would read the post before replying.

The offences for which she's been charged carry a maximum of six months.

So the question remains, what offence has an 'upper limit of incarceration' of 60 months.

I suspect @raleighnut is confusing the maximum sentence with the maximum (guideline) disqualification which, for a second drink/drive in 10 years is five years/60 months.

Haha looking at newspaper articles about her, what garbage the fish and chip rags post about her.Laughable there are tons of them, aged 43 she wants to try and be a gold medal winner at horsey things,a record release, paramedic training, they write anything about her to keep her relevant, she is aging and sliding down the celeb pole, most young people won't even know who she is.

You asked what she had a second conviction for.

No I didn't, I asked what the second offence for which 'the upper limit is 60 months of incarceration' is.

The truth of the matter is she has no conviction for any offence which has a maximum of five years in prison.

Her maximum jeopardy is six months in prison, although given she's pleaded guilty she is all but entitled to a substantial discount before any other mitigation is taken into account.

She could lose her licence for five years.
