Just how far can ones fitness progress?

I thought that too, but I can honestly say I did proper training set by a coach and knew that barring mechanical problem or injury, I would get round. Even the marathon was ok (took me 5h21) and I walked a fair bit (had trained for that as it is different muscles) - my mara time would have had me beating 8000 of the 35000 finishers at the London mara!

I still don't look like a real athlete! Legs of iron, moobs of jelly!

I'm very early doors on the whole thing, but already ......How far can my fitness go?

There's pretty much no limit provided you keep at it with regular training.

It's a virtuous circle too - the fitter you get, the harder you can train...and you get fitter....and can train harder....and you get fitter..... and so it goes on round and round.

I keep thinking Ive hit the most I can get to, and then I seem to just fall over that barrier and my endurance increases again. Its quite intoxicating! The weights started falling off now too, which is another great thing.
