Just got a free lock from the Transport Police

Yes, really. As part of a scheme to help encourage cycling and reduce bike thefts from known hotspots the BTP are doing bike register cycle marking (for free) and offering gold standard locks for free.
They even advise on locking with two different types of lock to make it harder for thieves. They know there stuff. AND not a helmet lecture in sight, just good crime prevention.
