How long do you reckon it will take ? I'm into my second week ....
It's took me about a year, thats not to say I didn't enjoy getting here, (most of the time, ok some of the time).
It all depends how your base fitness is and age, It's took me this long as I was 48 when I started, and pretty unfit really.

Been reading all these comments and i too am taking it on board as i am very new to this cycling carry on too. Started last month after about 18 of steering clear of bikes. I now have a scar on my right arm, a very tender behind and one hell of a collection of bruises on my calfs but i am loving it. Most i have manage is 15miles but took my time. Happy cycling one and all ;)

My body seems to be taking turns ..... When my legs feel not bad, I struggle to breathe as my heart attempts to escape from my chest. When my breathing is fine, my legs are burning !! Does this get any easier ??

It gets both easier to understand when and why each of the 'unpleasant' symptoms occurs and through getting fitter they care less.

No matter how fit you are, I would imagine tat if you are outside of your comfort zone then breathing and burning legs will happen.

set yourself small achievable goals

Don't expect to be Tour de France within a few weeks

Pedal, smile, enjoy it
