Don't know who's idea it was to make plastic gear levers but avoid.
Might be an idea to buy a donor bike from the recycling centre and use the bits from there if not too worn.

yes but...

I wish I had seen them before I had bought new break leavers. But I did find a set of arms in the shed that might work. I will see how things work out with what I have now if its no good these would be a good fit.

well I managed to get it serviced and working today and it has a set of street friendly tyres and working brakes.

I was hoping to go a bit further than that with this bike and smarten it up with new paint. But I had some unfortunate news yesterday. My landlord is selling up so we are going to have an unexpected house move that will need to take prioity over any fun projects for now
