Thank you mods, thank you for the sadly needed gardening work (i.e. weeding). I'm not averse to hugs (though everything in its right place obviously ;) ) and posted initially out of surprise more than need of sympathy (though that's appreciated too). I avoided Covid back in the era and maybe naively thought it was a thing of the past for me. Equally, I've only once had flu (in my 20s) so I maybe thought myself safe or immune. Getting older I guess. Anyways...

Feeling better today. Aches and pains gone, just an annoying cough and a very sore throat now. Hopefully that'll be gone tomorrow. Sadly, my wife has now got it and is feeling rough.

I wear one of those health tracker watches, it's going to be interesting to review what its made of my illness. It certainly is seeing increased stress, and recorded it before I actually felt ill, so I wonder when that will register back to normal.

My voice has pretty much gone completely, just a variable croak. After a few quiet and hoarse words, it gives up. Throat soreness passed, the worst of it anyway, but an occasional hacking cough.

My wife has no such symptoms. Paracetamol is working for her. No fair

I last had covid last year and the symptoms were little more than things smelling weird for a while and feeling tired. It went away after seven days.

First time for me so maybe it hit me harder, more flu like, dunno. The hotch-potch of symptoms is kinda weird.

Testing negative now?
My brother tested positive this morning, my cold last week was not Covid...hoping I've not caught it from him on Friday or Sunday (nor elderly mother on Sunday)!

I don't know. I don't have another test kit. I hadn't even thought of a retest tbh. Maybe I ought??

I hope so too, doubley for mum.

I live with my head in the sand. I didn't realise that Covid was still actively around in the numbers it appears to be. Maybe people think of it more like 'flu these days, and live with it the same sort of way....

My wife and I think we picked it up when we visited Montlucon for a few days earlier this month. The tourist brochure didn't recommend it but we figure it was a freebie.
