Had my umpteenth jab yesterday as I’m in the special group, arm is a bit sore but otherwise no ill effects. I’d much rather risk mild symptoms after a jab than have a bad case or long covid.

I must find out what that is here in France. I've seen general public announcements for flu injections for the elderly but am unaware of anything for Covid. It must be there, I've just not clocked it.

Edit: the 2025 campaign starts Monday apparently. It's aimed at the over 80s and/or those in retirement homes, those with compromised immune systems, and those deemed at high risk. I'm not in those categories.

It is over 65's here in the UK (and that means you will be over 65 by the end of the "season" - COVID and Flu jabs are both given in the autumn, with the peak season for both being December - March).

I'm always late to the party, I'm so last whatever. I feel rubbish, I thought it a combo of flu and sinusitis but was at a complete loss as to exactly what it was or where I'd picked it up. As we had a test kit (6 months out of date but thought I'd try it out anyway) I decided to use it.

As to where I picked it up, the only place I can figure is the medical centre! I had a blood test done there.

I'll do another test obviously, with an indate kit this time.

I've been banished to the spare room

I rather suspect that I've picked up a sinus infection.
Whenever I bend over, I have an unpleasant smell in my nose.
Googled it, and that is a symptom.
Would you proffer a 2nd opinion @yello?

NHS England says it's for the over 75's. I'm over 65 and haven't been offered it.

Ah. I'm in Wales. Didn't realise England was different on that. Though Wales seems to be changing as well.

Just checking, it was 65 or older for the last Autumn programme, but it is 75 or over for the current Spring programme. And the notice about last autumn does say eligibility is likely to be narrower for future programmes.

TBH, I hadn't even realised there was a Spring programme until I checked just now. Though my wife should be eligible for that, having turned 75 last month.

I’m in my 50s, but considered immunocompromised so I’m on the list. My GP did query if I should still be on it, but it came back as a clear yes due to my medical history.

I caught Covid for the first recorded time last year. Had to cancel my jabs because of it (oh the irony). Fortunately it wasn't too severe (in contrast to the experiences of some friends and acquaintances), but the symptoms were unsettling.

I'm not sure what you're asking tbh. Are you asking if I think you have sinusitis? Because I wouldn't know. I don't recall my sense of smell being messed up with it (had it a few times sadly) but that's not to say it wouldn't be for you. Different people can experience different symtoms.

the symptoms were unsettling.

I'm kinda relaxing into it now, now I know what it is, but not willingly in truth. No, it's not something I'd want again. Reading around, the newer strains are apparently less compromising than those back in the day, so I count myself lucky.

Speaking of irony, I've cancelled my doc's appt next week where I was going to ask about a possible immune system weakness (my blood test flagged a low gamma globulin count) That count may well have been due to the presence/onset of Covid! I'll make a new appt in a couple of weeks time when I'm hopefully back up and firing on all 4.

Well I was going to give a hug emoji but since you have COVID, I'll refrain

S'okay, There's not a tonguey one.

I read earlier than you're not now expected to isolate yourself. Though it is advisable if you can. You are supposed to wear a mask (if you go out) though.
