Picking up my new bike today, Picking up a Carerra Axle today for my commute.

I saw a Giant Advanced or SL bike outside where i worked yesterday... all sexy looking in matt black. I actually had to step back and admire it

I wasnt able to actually identify which model it was as i had to get back to work but by the time i was able to go out and have a look at it again, it had gone Now i really want one.

Good looking bike....but its 13.5 kgs!! I know the protocol at CC is to congratulate new bike owners even if you dont really mean it, but i am taking the honest approach and hoping you dont have too many hills to climb!

I'll bet most of us will have a good 5kg of "festive weight" to contend with come January. OP will be fit as a fiddle by then! (I'm also justifying the fact I'm considering a touring bike at 15KG soon )

nah mate its purely for my commute to work. flat as a flat thing, and it means I appreciate my sub 10KG roadie more at the weekend

Good point...and i am regretting my negativity now...after all 'tis the season of goodwill and weight isn't everything i know....it will like a lead missile down the hills

Glad to hear it...but why not use the road bike for work and spend the £200 on beer and mince pies?
