Don't know if any folks on here remember the wondrous Laurence Corner.

https://www.londonremembers.com/memorials/laurence-corner-army-surplus

Over the road I seem to remember they had a separate shop (or was it another bunch) that sold medical surplus clothes and gear, some of it rather serious and even alarming looking. Can't remember if I ever went in (too busy at the main shop perusing various uniforms, combat pants for wearing on my vespa, camouflage net (for decorating student house share) and one careful owner parachutes) but I always reckoned its primary market was medical fetishists.

Almost certainly. I get the doctor/nurse kink, it mostly makes sense, but there are folk who take it to extremes that I'll never understand. And as for having a dentist fetish...

I have my dentist fetish once a day at 2.30.......

TBH, if you think you 'may' have the virus, you shouldn't be out anyway. Certainly won't be using public transport any time soon. PS the news is relatively encouraging about Roche having a reliable anti-body test.

If you aren't showing symptoms, which seems to be the majority of people who catch it, then there's no reason not to go out: in fact, you can't take time off work unless showing symptoms.

For everyone else (here at least) my mask protects them if I unknowingly am carrying the virus.

I can perfectly understand why someone might like to wear a mask to go into a shop but I do wonder about all the people I see driving with all the windows closed and wearing a mask. Inside a car on your own you are sufficiently far away from anyone else and I would have thought that the car's pollen filter system would probably be sufficient to trap Covid 19 anyway.

Maybe forgot they've got it on, or can't be bothered because they need to put it on again in a couple of minutes: I've done that a few times.

Just been out on our shopping venture, called to collect our Asda order, no milk on the order so as we passed Aldi there was virtually no queue so I went in, waiting at the till with the milk, a woman 70+ by the looks of it with a mask on, started to put her stuff on the belt less than 2 foot away from me, clearly wearing a mask makes her invincible & there is zero risk to anybody else!

I thought 70 year olds weren't allowed out.......just goes to show that old people simply can't be trusted.

I’m not sure it was a WHO recommendation that Scottish people should wear masks.

i think it may have been Gok Wan?
And what about the other obvious issue? If you're not army, trumpton, health service or dibble, you won't have been trained to remove it safely. The risk on an untrained person contaminating themselves upon removal, or cross contaminating upon disposal, negates the point of wearing masks or gloves at all.

It was wee Jimmy Krankie that recommended it, although she probably took that guidance from Gok Wan for all the science behind it.
My mask protects you, yours protects me. If I’ve got Covid (and are asymptomatic or symptomatic) I can’t reinfect myself by taking my mask off in the wrong way or in any way.
Some get it, some don't. For those that don't, well hopefully this will help.

Do they have to starve to death?
Obviously not. I assume the comments are because there was some discussion on the news last night and this morning that some people seemed to think all over 70's were shielding but they were never all expected to do that if they were fit. Also, those that were expected to shield were to get in touch for support so they could access all sorts of support. 👍

Sorry I am confused, if was you that told me that over 70's weren't allowed out, now you are saying that they are, as to what was on news either last night or this morning I have no idea, I haven't watched the news for some considerable time, there wasn't anything useful being conveyed so i stopped watching/listening, I only listen to Smooth radio same 500 tracks over & over again with 90 seconds of news on each hour which is enough. I however do try to catch the briefing most days, but only Mon - Fri.
