I did 200miles averaged 18.3mph on water coke and caramel waffle.
Save your money and buy some more expensive bib shorts.

I'm struggling to find in his original post were he stated that he was looking for fast improvements - and I honestly don't think bib shorts alone make you improve that much, unless its in the area of comfort.I did 200miles averaged 18.3mph on water coke and caramel waffle.

now a Skinsuit or speedsuit when doing TTs would defo help you improve, but I don't think the OP has stated he does those.........also for a guy that states only fat sloths drink milk as a recovery fluid, why the hell would you drink coke and caramel waffles as an energy source when there is much more natural types of food which would be less fattening.
Got any recipes?Especially when you buy the ingredients in bulk and make your own in BIG tubs!
Then take food out with you, simplesHard to find more natural energy sources in a service station *********!
Ride far enough to even need food first and then say carrying 3000kcal+ in your pocket sounds fun. Then take food out with you, simples

Point of order- Zero (and Nuun etc) aren't isotonic..they're zero calorie and only contain electrolytes (and flavouring, obviously). Perfectly good for shorter rides, or on longer ones provided you're getting the energy from other food/drink.I'm just discovering isotonic drinks (actually fizzy supplements to make isotonic drinks when added to water) and think I detect better immunity to cramping and less outrageous quaffing in the hours after a ride - but have only tried a couple of varieties.
I had a couple of citrus High 5 Zeros and a High 5 Extreme (with Caffeine) free with a mag - I liked them (but I'm still getting the smell out of the bottle from the caffeine one!)
I happened to see the SiS equivalent in a local shop, so thought "bet they're basically identical" - but so far they're not sitting as well in my gut, and taste distinctly salty/synthetic by comparison - the benefits still seem to be there though.
Obviously I'll probably avoid buying any more of those, but are there any others people particularly recommend / avoid ?
I suspect it'll turn out to be another "every possible product on the market" thread - but you never know ...
