Is this Bike any good?!!

i'm gonna pop down to halfords tomorrow and have a look at the carrera virtuoso.
Also I'm seeing loads of the trek FX and specialized sirrus secondhand and i;m thinking of heading down this route. I'm not dead set on a racer, and i've seen alot of these overtaking me on the roads. Do you think they'd bear up on a long tour and be relativaly speedy?

Nothing wrong with flat bar bikes but for longer rides a drop bar will give you more hand positions to ease wrist / hand strain and you can get on the drops to present less of a profile into a headwind and for that extra bit of speed down hills
