Is there a better puncture resistant tyre than this for 700x23 ?

Conti 4 Seasons are the best all weather high grip tyre. Gators are slippy in comparison.

4 Seasons do indeed give excellent grip in the wet. But so do Durano Plus, and they have much better puncture protection. They're also much heavier than 4 Seasons.

Hamsterskins give poor grip and puncture protection compared to either of the above, but are a lot cheaper.

Swings and roundabouts.

I had a whole heap of punctures with the 4 seasons... Very happy with the Michelin Krylion Carbons I'm using at the moment. Definitely the best all season commuting tyre I've tried.

An alternative maybe to run the durano in the front and a marathon plus in the rear. Yes, I know a marginal sacrifice to speed but this would be counterbalanced by the lighter front. However, the M+ I think only run to 110 psi

Durano Plus have the same level of puncture protection as Marathon Plus. There would be no advantage in what you suggest.

[Edit: oops - just checked my facts and that's not quite true: the SmartGuard layer in the D+ is slightly thinner than in the M+. Sorry! However, M+ don't come in a 23.]

I have got the London Edition versions and found them very good, only one puncture on the rear which I was suprised about but it was huge thorn. Then of course the sidewall gave in however I think that may have been my fault in all honesty thus hand on heart would buy again for winter/commuter tyre. I have ran the M+ before and they are pretty bullit proof but heavy and noticibly so! Just for the record running a Rubino Pro on the front and its pretty good as well. Saved my Mich Pro 4 for the better bike for spring/summer

Have also got the London Editions on my commuter.
Was disappointed that I got a puncture within a week of putting them on... however
4000 miles later.....no more punctures.

Tempted to order a set of these for my hybrid. Can get a pair for around £40. I found them slightly hard to put on my Forme initially. What are they like to remove and refit once they have been on a while if the dreaded fairy does pay me a visit at the side of the road?

Dunno mate.
As I said in my previous post... they haven't punctured since the first week I put them on in April last year.

A year without a puncture means i'd stick to what you've been using. My experience of Durano Plus isnt as good in terms of puncture protection but they are ok. A little bit better than 4 seasons or pro 4 endurance.

IME while 4 Seasons are great in the wet for grip and feel they are also prone to puncturing in the wet. Depends how much riding you do in the wet, - living in the west of Scotland i do a fair bit - and probably the "best" in terms of protection is one of the bontrager hardcase versions...cant remember the exact name it has a grey band on it. They are pretty cheap too and roll well. I dont however use them as i prefer something a bit lighter and more supple.

Yes I can, Yes I am, Yes I did...Repeat.
Im a heavy rider...I like to ride fast...I'm fed up with punctures at 110psi etc the tyre allows for psi up to 140psi ish I think, so I choose to use a higher psi...simples...

Easy - 10 mins for both wheels! Not had a visit from the fairy but I change my tyres when the bike is on the roller over winter.

my mistake with mine was not fitting them into the wheel well and after running about on them at 140psi the sidewall eventually gave in with a massive bang and a change of underwear for me  Fitting the durano's was easier than some tyres.
