Why not? Are you saying they don't elongate with use? How many miles has your current chain done?

You have to lubricate it bit more often in the winter. For me it's when I notice rust on the chain.

As stated they are not consumables. Mine have lasted me 8 years the previous owner did 20,000 kilometres on the same chainwheel sprocket and chain obviously removing a link. He was he said addicted to cleaning them though. He also included in the sale the spare chainwheel and sprocket, that he carried for the 20,000 kilometres. That is definition of not consumables. What's the rider living for ever got to do with consumables?
