Every time a get a cold/virus/flu bug I get nose bleeds..sitting here now with a sheet of andrex folded and rolled in my nostril. Have I missed a major marketing exploit (the nose tampon) or is it just dodgy nasal capillaries

One thing I've never suffered from - nose bleeds.

Sometimes the walls of the blood vessels become damaged and then are very easy to rupture. If it becomes a real problem you can get them cauterised.

I get nosebleeds - with colds or from flying - always on the same side. I had to have the capillary cauterised after a serious nosebleed that wouldn't stop (flew to the US and back within the space of 3 days). Ambulance trip to A&E after a couple of hours as I couldn't breathe very well due to all the blood in my throat xx( , then emergency visit to the specialist.

I would see your GP and have it investigated by an ENT specialist.

You need to blow your nose gently and not pick...to make it stop, pince bridge of nose hard, and tilt head slightly forwards (never back), a cold flannel can help too

Oh and they do have nose tampons, and they are horrid! xx(
