Great. Looks like sub zero temps for the 7.30 commute for the next 2 mornings. The ice spike tyres that came off after the last BFTE moved on, might have to get re-fitted tonight. It's mid March FFS!.
I used the ice bike to ride to work on Monday, at 8am it was really icy.
Snow forecast again for the beginning of the week.
Happy Easter everyone :cold:

I'm just learning, please forgive me if I delete some of your posts by mistake
Only kidding about the deleting, that's easy enough not to do.
But this Mod stuff is certainly a bit more in dept than just surfing CC: hats off to the Mods team that have been doing it for years, and thank you for your patience during my learning curve :smooch:

It's that time of year again, three weeks to go until the seventh Pedal on Parliament event.

Let’s make Scotland a cycle-friendly country.

Things have changed since the first PoP but we need to keep the pressure on the politicians.

SATURDAY APRIL 28, 12noon The Meadows, Edinburgh

SATURDAY APRIL 28, 11AM Bellfield Park, Inverness

SUNDAY APRIL 29, 11AM Albyn Place, Aberdeen

See the website https://pedalonparliament.org/resources/ for posters, pennants, handlebar flyers, T shirts , Feeder rides, free beer tickets etc.

@snorri will I see you in Embra?
Let's hope it's not freezing as it is every year!
I hope we will meet there, I have my rail tickets booked and woolly hat washed and ironed!

12 noon in Edinburgh? That's a bit anti-social for anyone wanting to do a feeder ride from Glasgow! Or at least it is for those who ride at my pace.
Is there no PoP in Glasgow this year then? Don't see it on the website if there is.

Edit to add - Question answered by @Slick while I was typing. :okay:

Yes, I was really proud of our city for the turnout last year!
Too expensive to repeat, GCC wants a lot of money for the event
I really enjoyed it last year and Mrs Slick enjoyed meeting you. It looks like she is investing in an electric bike soon so we may even have managed to cycle the while way from home if it was going ahead.
Shame on the council for out pricing thus event, I hope that they are named and shamed.

It used to be 3pm, but they had to change it because of the road closure, I think the council/police thought earlier would cause less disruption.
I agree with you on the timing, 2 years ago I went with West Coast Velo, we left at 7am, got there at 11.30, I don't know how I kept up!
The group is normally much faster, but on that occasion several slow coaches like me joined the ride, I was not the last one!
Twice I have taken a group of Glasgow Belles starting from Linlithgow, I think I will do the same this year.
