Another brilliant non-CCer deserves a special mention, Rod from Leith Cycle Co - working very hard on the 1st part of the ride, 2nd half was much less eventful apparently...
@Louch causing trouble as usual , 105 shifters need to be taken apart with this particular issue, not something you can do on the road out of the back of a van with a torch :surrender:
That gear cable should have been changed a while ago, quite badly frayed from what I saw ..

Bike was in for service mid may, read earlier back in this very thread for my mistrust of the work done by a particular Dunfermline bike shop who refused to replace cable at my request post service :cursing:. I'd have been more raging if it had stopped me completing the event yesterday. :cry:But instead I now have an interest in a single speed ....".:bicycle:

then couldn't waste the 93.6 miles he had done by the end, so went and 'found' another 5.4 to complete his Imperial ton !
At the risk of sounding pedantic  .................... He didn't complete his imperial ton in that case!
When I was a lad, 93.6 + 5.4 = 99 :okay:.

It was at 94.6 pedant , and I ended up at 101 in case strava stole too many miles back.

Been recommended a good halfords bike mechanic in cumbernauld who is expecting me at 10am tomorrow to see about getting bike fixed, so may be back on the road soon.

We really need more cc eccosse rides planned in, last night/ this morning was a great laugh as we found loads to find fun in as we rode.

Was also witness to a very emotional moment where one of the ladies in our group passed her late fathers home for the first time since he passed away 10 years back. She said she has always wanted to go back, but has never found the strength, and then by chance our route had us stopping at the bottom of his garden, where she found it to be still set up as he had it back then. Probably the only time my sunglasses went back on as she told the story.

Well, it's been a strange sort of a weekend - I had planned a jaunt through to Embra on Saturday Afternoon to walk up Arthur's seat with some friends and was going to see a show (a screening of my brother performing at Glyndebourne) at the GFT on Sunday with my mother. Unfortunately, she tripped on a raised paving slab after the Elton John concert at the Hydro on Friday and has shattered her right kneecap and bruised/possibly fractured her wrist. She was operated on on Saturday Morning and is already walking with the aid of a zimmer / crutches and should hopefully get home on Wednesday (talk about determined!) The damage to her knee seems pretty bad though and they're not sure how well the repair will last or what the chance of significant recovery is but it will take at least six weeks before she is allowed to even bend it apparently... Just devastated for her, she is such an active person and being stuck in the house unable to potter in the garden, get out and about etc will be really frustrating but she's made of strong stuff and I'm sure she'll be back to it sooner than the doctors think!
