It seems the Galaxy S is bigger too. I always thought it was the same size.

So is the iPhone the only one with a small screen? I guess it must fit in one's pocket better.

This thread is like Macrumours, only for fans of any other platform than Apple

I've just read all the thread. I'll just stick to bikes if you don't mind.

Its certainly looked like it should be iPhone 4 versus Galaxy S if you want to compare more similar items.

I personally like my iphone 4 very much. It is much better than the 3g or the 3gs as the processor is a lot faster. However, with the iphone 5 rumoured to be weeks away, I might wait and see what that brings.

I have used HTCs before (the windows phone-based TYTN and the k-jam), and loved them but I did have a HTC wildfire for a while and I found it pretty unusable - it was really slow and crashed all the time and the camera was rubbish. I ended up going back to my Nokia n95 in the end, as it worked infinitely better.

However, my friend has the Desire HD and it looks pretty amazing and MUCH faster than the Wildfire.

Given that the iPhone 4 and (original) Galaxy S came out around the same time, it is these two that have been compared.
Follow the mobile industry and you'll know of GSMArena - their comparison of these handsets.

You don't agree with him because you know him to be a fan of Apple? So his comments aren't valid, because you think he's biased?

This is what I don't understand about the polarised views when it's PC/Mac, Android/iPhone, MTB/Road. Everyone assumes you're biased because of what you use/ride, it's why it's ridculous that someone (say an MTBer) can pour scorn on you because he sees you on the day you're on your road bike, even though you've got an MTB at home which you use just as much.

You're also biased, heavily. You only have to look at your comments to see the childish phrases (crapple, isheep etc). It's pathetic that you care so much to be honest.

See, I'm right in the middle, I laugh at fan boys of any brand

and then complain about it

It's like people complaining about the battery life. The battery life of any smart phone which has a big touch screen is always going to be poor when you compare it to a nokia of 7 years ago.

Yup it's the touch screen that does for the battery. I'm thinking of going for a Blackberry 8520 next, no touch screen to worry about.

I owned a HTC, had a magic handset, a work blackberry and currently own a S2. Many friends have the iphone 4 so I have had great exposure to it now as it's been out for ages. To be honest the iphone is a solid handset, but for the price and the chief fact that it cannot bluetooth i.e. communicating to swap files with ease between handsets etc it scored a big mar.

After colleagues have played with the S2 and given it a good demo they have all commented that it is a big contender to usurp the iphone. Having the android market edges it in terms of flexibility.

The only downside to the S2 is the battery life, which if your willing to use third party ROM's can improve this area greatly.
