I hear a lot of people saying "deep dive" these days.

I recall passed phrases:
Moving forward.
Going forward.
Daily basis (this ones been around for years, it irks me because "basis" isn't required).
Liking it (instead of like it)
Do your hair (do what with your hair? Set it, clean it, cut it, shave it?)

moving forward
pushing the envelope
touch base
arghhh...thats enough.......... im going for a lie down in a dark room....

Why a postgrad parchment in Celestial Mechanics I often feign insult an indignation when someone uses the "rocket science" phrase.

Any kind of pseudo-clever business speak makes me want to go all Schwarzenegger on the offenders.

The best invented phrases are the ones inadvertantly created by non-native speakers of the English language.

Michael Curtiz, a film director was a prime example.

He wanted to say 'Bring on the riderless horses' an instead said, 'Bring on the empty horses'

On the set of 'The Charge of the Light Brigade', when, wanting to see stray horses wandering through the battle, Curtiz directed the wranglers to "Bring on the empty horses". When Niven and Flynn cracked up laughing, he responded with:'You people, you think I know fark nothing; I tell you: I know fark all"
