I have those dual bike computers things but still have one on each bike. Also lights for every bike but they could all be easily swopped over. It is kind of addictive I have to agree! Got loads of sweets from wiggle mounting up too.

I have to confess to feeling slightly dissappointed in this topic.

I think I'm ordering stuff off Wiggle just to see what sweets I actually get with the stuff. How sad is that.

What's worse is the tantrum I have when it's those really tarty sweeties or cola bottles. I also get quite annoyed when it's the same toffees as the packet I got the previous days package. Come on Wiggle, shake the box a bit for God's sake !

I have got a problem haven't I ..........

Yeah I just been on a wiggle spree. Got a couple of new tyres, inner tubes and a new saddlebag coming to me and then randomly bought a new tomtom for my car.

Doing my bit for the economy like.

I'm fairly careful with my cash - and have always been good at making it go a bit further. However cycling is certainly a challenge to that!

I divide stuff up into things I really need and those I would like.

Then I decide whether I need it now, or it can wait.

So in the need box is:-

Overshoes - now -or next pay day at the latest!
new jagwire racer cables - can wait
Hollowtech BB tool - can wait
club kit - can wait until the new supplier is sorted out

The want box has:-

cadence sensor for my garmin 500
heart rate monitor for garmin 500
tri-bars

these become rewards for meeting targets.

I sometimes browse cycle shops - but cannot recollect ever buying anything on the spur of the moment. These shops are a tool to get cheaper prices, use them, don't let them use you!

My problems are mounting:-

1. I'm getting old
2. The kids have flown the nest
3. I'm doing more buying than biking
4. I look a pillock in lycra
5. The wife thinks I'm a pillock
6. Chain Reaction Cycles are now trying to mess with my head

Is there something wrong with me ?

Discuss

1. So is everyone else

2. Haven't experienced that yet. Will resurrect this thread in around 18 years time.

3. How are you measuring that. Item vs cycle trip? Or miles v £'s? Please define.

4. Yes

5. Yes

6. That's normal. The voices will follow soon.

Just make sure you enjoy what you've spent by getting out on the bike. Once you do, there's no need to feel guilty as spending money on something that will make you happier AND fitter is the soundest investment you'll ever make. Enjoy it, lycra n all, but if you start thinking about shaving your legs take that as a warning that the mid-life crisis has gone too far!

When I splashed the cash on my new bike last November, I justified it to myself by the £100 a month Diesel saving + the other unknown car running costs savings of 450-500 miles a month. My "other" purchases over the last 10 months really mean Only 3 out of 7 months have showed any return on my intial bike investment. Lets hope I have enough gear to go the next 12 months!! Hmm lights, I had an Evans catalogue come thorugh do people really spend £300+ on front lights?

I never get sweets from Wiggle.
Even when I bought a frame and wheels from them, I didn't get any sweets.
No even when I bought all the other bits for the stupid shed ornament from them.

My Mum got some when she bought me a saddle for my birthday this year. So did my Sister when she bought me some trousers. (both decided the freebies weren't part of my present and ate them.

Stupid Wiggle.

Not punting for Wiggle, but I got Sweets in each package from them, and I have to say their returns and the returns system have been very impressive, no quibble and so easy to arrange for the clothing to be returned for free.

I've spent so much with Wiggle in the last 12 months that I'm now a platinum member with 12% off everything. That means I must spend more to benefit from it. I bought my brother a MTB off Wiggle last month. I just love. LOVE IT ! Buying that is

No he's not a skint little kid, he's 44 and earns twice as much as me but his missus wouldn't authorize any funds to get one. WIGGLE'S NUMBER 1 CUSTOMER TO THE RESCUE OUR KID

What with the 12% off AND the sweets AND the very good service AND the excitement of expecting a delivery.......

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME ??

I've got that much stuff now that I actually contemplated taking my bike out
